Wedding Pressures?

Posted on June 4, 2013 by Judy | Filed under: Uncategorized

I see more and more brides (and it usually is the bride, rather than the groom) getting stressed out about what should be the happiest day of their lives.  In the quest to make their wedding the most memorable, they are going to increasing lengths, spending huge amounts of cash (including bank loans) to ensure their wedding is the most talked about.   From monogrammed carpets to walk down, to wedding makeup and hair for bride, bridesmaids, brides’ parents; to expensive wedding favours… Nothing stands in the way of The Big Day.  Five sugared almonds?!  Pah!  Today’s brides won’t settle for that!

Apparently, the average cost of a wedding today, including the honeymoon, is now a staggering £21,939, up 7% in the last decade.

Recession?  What recession?

Remember  the important things about the day – prioritise on those things that remain long after the dress no longer fits, or the flowers have died, or the cake has all been eaten:  Your Rings, Your Vows, Your Photographs.  These are the things to concentrate on and get right.    I can’t help with rings or photographs (but I can recommend people!), but I can help you with your ceremony and those important vows….

Don't blow it all on the detail!
