Dying Matters Awareness Week
This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week. As a Celebrant, I help families to design the funeral ceremony for their loved one – but often, they have no idea where to start, as death has not been discussed. This is often true even in cases where the person who has died had a terminal illness. Life really is too short not to have those important conversations NOW. Not when you are ill, not when you are old, but right now.
So how have I done on those Five Things? Well, not too badly as it happens. I have done 4 out of the 5. The one I am finding difficult is the ‘End of Life Care Plan’. Probably because I don’t want to imagine the situation arising. But I have found a very helpful website, so I will get this done this week. After all, I can hardly spend time encouraging others to do this and not to it myself can I?
This is a great help in deciding what you want to happen to you in different scenarios:

And lots of useful reading on this website too.
